I hope that everyone is having a great start to their new year. I’m writing to tell you how to make it just a LITTLE bit better as you start in on all of your new resolutions.
One of my resolutions, as always, is to keep the Great American Songbook alive and kicking. I promise I’ll be doing everything I can this year to make that a reality. All you have to do now is take a little time to listen to my efforts.
Last year I started a project w/ Nick Rieser called ‘The Songbook Project’, inspired by Ella Fitzgerald’s great Songbook albums that inspired me when I first started listening to music. This year, I’m happy to say that we’ll be continuing the project.
Throughout 2013, I will record 50 songs with my Trio that will be exclusively released to subscribers of this project through CDs that will be mailed DIRECTLY to your doorstep. This year, we’ll be covering the music of Frank Loesser, Jimmy McHugh, Johnny Mercer, Cole Porter, & Richard Rodgers.
In order to be a part of this great project, all that is required of you is a confirmation email sent my way (firstname.lastname@example.org) & $95 to support our efforts. If that is too great of a lump sum, I’m willing to let you split it up into 3 payments of $32 spread out through the year.
We need about 15 more people to do this to make it work… please consider taking the time! If you’d like to sample some recordings, I encourage you to head over to maxjwellman.bandcamp.com to get a taste of what I’m talking about. I’ve posted one example below.
Thanks as always, and let me know if you have any questions.
